The JustAnswer story

In 2003, When our CEO, Andy Kurtzig, and his wife Sara were expecting their first child, they had questions around the clock, but their doctor only had time to answer them during scheduled appointments. Drawing from his entrepreneurial background, Andy built a site that connects people with doctors, lawyers, and other Experts 24/7, and the idea for JustAnswer was born.

What do Experts do?

As an Expert on JustAnswer, you can help people while earning money by answering health questions online. You’ll be able to use your expertise to help people from all over, even those who might not be able to access traditional health services but still really need your help. Set your own hours and work anytime, anywhere by answering questions related to Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dermatology, Neurology, Homeopathy, Mental Health, and more.

When do I work?

As an independent contractor on the JustAnswer platform, you can work as much as or as little as you want. There are no scheduled shifts or minimum hours requirements. Many Experts have full-time jobs or own their own businesses in their specialty, and they supplement their incomes by answering questions.

How much can I earn as an Expert?

You’re your own boss at JustAnswer! You decide how much you bring in depending on the volume of questions you choose to answer.

How do I answer questions on JustAnswer?

Customers post questions to the JustAnswer platform.
Experts review, select, and answer questions based on their particular specialty.
Experts respond via chat, call, or text to the customer.

What kind of information am I providing in my answers?

Experts in the Medical and Wellness categories shall provide general information only, not medical advice and are prohibited from forming a professional-client relationship on the platform. Please see the Expert Agreement for more information.

Requirements to apply

For Medical: MD or DO license (or local equivalent) that is active and in good standing, plus a minimum 4 years employed as a practitioner.

To answer questions in any of the following medical specialties, relevant board certification and a minimum of 4 years practicing in that specialty is required:

Bariatrics
Cardiology
Dermatology
Drug testing
Endocrinology
Neurology
Obstetrics and Gynecology

Oncology
Ophthalmology
Optometry
Orthopedics
Pediatrics
Urology

Requirements for wellness specialties:

Mental health, relationships or parenting: PhD in Psychology or Psychiatry and/or MD, plus a minimum of 4 years employed as a psychiatrist or psychologist.

Other licensing options plus 4 years of practice:

  - Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) 
  - Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
  - Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor of Mental Health (LPCC) 
  - Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
  - Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP)
  - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Dental: DDS degree (or local equivalent) that is active and in good standing, plus a minimum of 4 years employed or in practice as a dentist.
