How do I answer questions on JustAnswer?

Customers post questions to the JustAnswer platform.
Experts select the questions they want to answer from a list of available questions in their specialty.
Experts chat with the customer and provide an answer. Experts also reply to any follow-ups that the customer might have.
Experts are paid for every question answered.

When do I work?

As an independent contractor on JustAnswer, you can work as much or as little as you want to! There are no scheduled shifts. You can make your own hours and work only when you want. If you're looking to optimize your earnings your best bet is to log on evenings and weekends (especially Saturday nights) when vet offices are closed and there are more questions available.

How much can I earn as an Expert?

You’re your own boss at JustAnswer! You decide how much you bring in depending on the volume of questions you choose to answer. Many Veterinarian Experts who answer questions at least a few days per week earn an average of $2,000 - $7,000 per month. The most active vet Experts earn over $10,000 per month. Experts are paid for every question answered and are paid out monthly. In addition to per-answer earnings, Experts have the opportunity to earn bonuses which can add up to an additional 10-20% to monthly earnings.

What kind of information am I providing in my answers?

Experts in the Veterinary, Pet, or Large Animal categories shall provide general information only, not veterinary advice and are prohibited from forming a professional-client relationship on the platform. Please see the Expert Agreement for more information.

Requirements to apply

An active vet license in good standing, and at least 2 years of veterinary employment or ownership of a veterinary practice. After submitting your application, we perform a credential check.
