Step 7: Double check that the customer is satisfied

You've greeted your customer, clarified the question, set the expectation, provided a thorough answer — all while maintaining the utmost in professionalism and sensitivity. Don’t undo all your hard work with a sloppy signoff! Before you go:

  1.       Ask if you’ve answered the question
  2.       Ask if anything in your answer is unclear
  3.       Invite them to ask any follow-up questions
  4.       Say “thank you”

Example:

“Have I answered your question? If any part of my response is unclear, please let me know. It’s my goal to deliver excellent service, so please let me know if there is anything more I can do. Thank you for using our site.”
