May I answer a question that has an existing response or answer?

By Anh Nguyen |

If you have a good faith belief that interjecting will either prevent a dangerous answer or otherwise substantially assist the customer, you have several options:

1. If your answer is similar to the other Expert's answer, there is an "Agree" report in the drop-down menu in the answer that you can use to express your agreement. This will show up in the Q&A thread for others to see and the customer and other Pro may appreciate it.

2. If you have a good faith belief that additional information will legitimately help the customer, there is an "Assist" report in the drop-down menu in the answer that you can use to provide additional information to the Expert who answered the question. This will not be visible to the customer but will be sent to the Expert who may wish to provide an updated Answer.

3. If you have a good faith belief that your answer is substantially different and correctly answers the customer's question, then you may post your answer.

4.  If another Expert has posted an Info Request but you believe you can post a thorough answer with the information already provided, you may post your Answer.

5. If you have a good faith belief the current answer is incorrect or incomplete, you may use the “Incorrect/Incomplete” report. This will alert the other Expert and JustAnswer’s Expert Quality team of your concern. If the other Expert agrees with your report, great; if the other Expert does not agree, you may be asked to reconfirm or withdraw your report.
