UPDATE 5/25/2017: This test has concluded.
Starting on May 16th, we're excited to offer a pilot Estate Planning service that connects you with customers who are looking for experienced Experts to help them draft a living trust. With this new service, we deliver customers with living trust needs directly to you and handle payments up-front so you can focus on doing what you do best: help customers. We plan to run this pilot program for a week and will let you know once it ends.
With the Living Trust service, customers expect you to provide:
- Introductory phone call to get customer needs
- Declaration of Trust document
How it works?
Unlike premium services currently offered on JustAnswer, this new service is offered to customers on a separate platform, www.justanswer.net/create-a-living-trust. Except for the terms below, the same Terms of Service and Expert Agreement govern services provided through this new platform. When you accept a living trust request from a customer, you are responsible for providing the customer your own version of an engagement letter (such as a limited scope engagement letter) and perform conflicts check.
When a customer makes a living trust request, Experts in the Estate Planning category will be notified via email. The email will include basic information about the request such as the customer's state and request type (e.g. individual or couple) so you can decide whether you want to fulfill. You can also opt-out of receiving this email if you do not want to participate in this pilot.
To accept a request, reply to the email notification. Requests are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once you get confirmation that you have accepted a request, you will be provided with the customer's contact information.
After you've completed all items included in the service, introductory phone call, Declaration of Trust document, you will get 100% of the customer's payment. You may follow-up with a phone call after delivering the Declaration of Trust to provide additional information about the document. You will be asked to pay a per service marketing fee to JustAnswer through a separate transaction from a credit card or PayPal account not used to receive service payments. We recommend that you set this up with us ASAP so we can expedite your payments. You can reply to this email to get that started.
How much does the service cost and how much do I earn?
Customers pay $1,500 for a living trust for an individual and $2,000 for a couple. Experts will pay a $750 per service marketing fee to JustAnswer through a separate transaction from a credit card or PayPal account not used to receive service payments.
If you elect to continue to represent the customer and to provide the customer additional documents (e.g. Living will, power of attorney, etc.) after concluding the Living Trust transaction through JustAnswer, all further engagements shall be considered off-platform transactions between you and the customer. You are responsible for payments for any additional documents and you get to keep 100% of the earnings. This service shall not be subject to any JustAnswer guarantees and the customer may reach out to you directly for refunds of these further engagements.
What if a customer wants a refund?
We know that there may be unexpected reasons a customer may want a refund. In the case where you've provided the Declaration of Trust but the customer wants a refund, you will keep the earned payout.
During the introductory call, you may find out that a customer may not need a living trust. In this case, please let us know and instruct the customer to contact Customer Support. You won't receive payment for the Living Trust service since you and/or the customer decided not to proceed. However, you will receive an Amazon gift card as a thank you for your participation.
We look forward to collaborating with you to deliver on customers' living trust needs.
